Egg Biriyani / Egg Dum Briyani


A tasty egg briyani for egg lovers prepared in an easiest way. It is very delicious and flavorful egg dum briyani. If u crave for briyani but no meat available then this briyani will definitely satisfy you. It makes a great weekend meal and you can enjoy this briyani with raita or any side dish of your choice.

Preparation Time: 15 mins
Cooking Time: 45 mins

Ingredients:

Eggs - 3 (boiled and cut halved)
Cooked rice - 1 1/2 cups
Onion -  2 chopped finely
Tomato - 2 chopped finely
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
Green chilli - 3 or 4
Coriander powder - 1 tbsp
Chilli powder - 2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Bay leaves - 1
Cloves - 3
Cardamom - 3
Cinnamon sticks - 1 or 2
Coriander leaves - 1 cup
Mint leaves - 1/2 cup
Oil - 2 to 3 tbsp
Fried onions to garnish
Salt to taste

Procedure:

1. Prepare all your ingredients.


2. Heat oil in a kadai and add the bay leaf, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon sticks.


2. Now add the finely chopped onions and saute well till it becomes translucent.


3. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder and mix well.


4. Add 1 tbsp of ginger garlic paste and saute very well. Now add tomatoes,salt and mix well. Cover and cook for 5 mins till the tomatoes turn very mushy.


5. Add green chillis, coriander leaves, mint leaves and mix well. Add little amount of water if it is dry. Cover and cook for sometime.


6. Add the eggs and mix gently to coat the eggs with the masala.



7. Gently place the cooked rice over the masala and over it spread the fried onions, coriander leaves. Sprinkle some salt. If you want you can add some food color mixed with milk or water and sprinkle over the rice.


8. Cover the kadai with aluminum foil and place the lid tightly.


9. Now place the kadai on a simmer ring or any tawa and put dum for about 30 to 35 mins in a low flame


 10. Turn off the heat and let it rest for few mins. Now open and serve yummy and tasty egg biriyani..
