Karupatti Kadalpaasi / Palm Jaggery Agar Agar / Palm Jaggery Chinagrass


There are plenty of natural and artificial sweeteners in the market. We always buy the same white sugar. What good could we find in that. But the ancient palm jaggery has all the health benefits. My grandfather used to say, a small ball of palm jaggery was his lunch to school. Those people are more healthy when compared to our generation youths. Palm Jaggery sweetens your food in a healthy manner. We often prepare china grass pudding using normal white sugar. This is a recipe which calls for palm jaggery. Fried Rice


Fried Rice is the fashioned version of including veggies in your diet. Sometimes when you prepare variety of vegetable kootu in your lunch, kids wont even touch it. But when you prepare fried rice, they love it. You can include whatever veggies you wish or some pieces of fried chicken and it tastes awesome. The key to a successful fried rice is the perfectly cooked rice. When the rice is 3/4th cooked, take a rice and cut it into half. If you could see the raw white rice in the middle, then its not cooked. Wait for 1 minute and check again. Repeat this until the moment you could find no raw white rice. That is the right time to switch  off the flame. If you want a perfectly prepared fried rice, Please do not over cook the rice.

Potato Kootu / Potato Poriyal


This potato side dish makes me nostalgic. My mother used to prepare this for lunch during my school days. Along with plain rice and rasam this side dish will be most of the combo. I too liked it soo much. My mom used to tell that she had kept this kootu for lunch so that i'll be happy. Because i don't like to eat rice at school instead tiffin will be better. But the school order was to bring rice for lunch, so I had no other go. Rice with rasam will be dry when opening the tiffin box during lunch hour but this kootu will be fresh so definitely my first bite will be this tasty side dish. Very easy to prepare this so give a try .

Crab Roast


The top tastiest sea food I have ever eaten is crab. It tastes so delicious. You need patience to eat it. Only then you will get satisfaction. I have asked many of my friends and relatives whether they had eaten crab. Their answer is a big No. But I'm telling you to try it. It is more delicious than prawns. Some may think that it is very difficult to clean the crab. But its not at all like that. Cleaning and cooking both are easy.. So don't miss this delicious dish.. Try it and enjoy !!

Chicken Gravy


This chicken gravy is almost similar to the usual chicken curry but quite a modified version of that. Here the onions and tomatoes are grinded so the gravy gives a creamy texture. It's easy to prepare and its tasty too. It goes well with Dosa, Aappam, Rotti, Ghee rice. Give it a try .
