Karupatti Kadalpaasi / Palm Jaggery Agar Agar / Palm Jaggery Chinagrass


There are plenty of natural and artificial sweeteners in the market. We always buy the same white sugar. What good could we find in that. But the ancient palm jaggery has all the health benefits. My grandfather used to say, a small ball of palm jaggery was his lunch to school. Those people are more healthy when compared to our generation youths. Palm Jaggery sweetens your food in a healthy manner. We often prepare china grass pudding using normal white sugar. This is a recipe which calls for palm jaggery. The taste of the palm jaggery combined with the coconut milk gives pleasure to the taste buds. Do try this recipe and include more of palm jaggery in your diet and stay healthy.

Preparation Time: 10 mins
Cooking Time: 20 mins
Soaking Time: 30 mins
Serves: 6

Ingredients:

Agar agar- 8 g
Water- 1+1 cup
Coconut milk- 1 cup
Palm Jaggery- 100 g (approx) or to your taste
Cardamom- 2

Procedure:

1. Take all your ingredients.


2. Soak agar agar in 1 cup of water for 30 mins along with cardamon.


3. In a pan add palm jaggery and 1 cup of water and start boiling, stir continuously.


4. Once the palm jaggery is melted, switch off the flame, filter it and again add it to the pan.



5. Now switch on the flame and add the soaked agar agar to it.


6. Stir continuously until the agar agar gets melted.



7. Once the agar agar is melted, add the coconut milk and allow it to boil for a minute.



8. Pour it a bowl and allow it to set.


8. Once it is set u can cut in to pieces and serve. It tastes good when refrigerated.
