Onion Vada / Ulli Vada / Onion Fritters


Onion vada is an easy to make recipe. It can be made quickly within minutes. This vada is a popular tea time snack. In Kanyakumari we get hot crispy vada sold in small tea shops which looks so yummy. So just tried a version of it and turned out so well

Preparation Time: 15 mins
Cooking Time: 10 - 15 mins

Ingredients:

Onion- 4
Green chilli -1
Curry leaves- 1 spring
Coriander leaves
Asafotida -a pinch
Red chilli powder-1/4tsp
Fennel powder -1/4tsp
Besan flour- 2 - 3 tbsp
Pepper-1/4tsp
Salt to taste
Oil for frying

Procedure:

1. Take all you ingredients.


2. In a mixing bowl add onion green chilli, curry leaves and coriander leaves.


3.Add in salt and the spices.




4. Finally add besan flour and mix well.



5. Now add little water and mix well.


6. Heat oil in a kadai and deep fry the vada balls until it turns golden brown.


6. Serve hot.
