Lemon Pickle / Elumichapazham oorugai- South Indian style


This is the first time i tried making pickle at home,though my mom is an expert in making different type of pickles. This one of my mom's traditional and simple way of making lemon pickle. My first attempt really made me feel great because the pickle just got my mom's touch .

Ingrdients:


Lemons- 10
Red chilli- 25
Fennel seed- 2 tbsp
Salt-1cup
Asetafodia- 1 tsp
Gingely oil- 1 spoon

Procedure:

1. Boil the lemons,drain it.




2. Cut the lemons into small pieces.
  

3. Take your ingredients.



4. Heat little oil in the kadai and roast red chilli, fennel seeds and salt separately.






5. Put it in the blender and make it as a powder.




6. Add salt to the grinded powder and blend it again.





7. Add asetafodia and then the masalas and mix well by adding little water.





8. Keep it under the sun for about 7 hours and store it.




Spicy and tasty lemon pickle is ready..



Note:
If u add a tbsp of vinegar u can preserve these pickle for more than a month.
