Wheat Paratha / Lacha Paratha


This recipe is dedicated to all paratha lovers who are fed-up with health issues virally spreading  in social sites on eating Maida Paratha. Hope you enjoy cooking this healthy wheat paratha. Please like, comment & share your precious feedback .


Preparation Time: 30 mins 
Cooking Time: 10 mins for approximately 8 parathas (medium size) 
Serving Suggestion: Chole Masala, Veg Kurma, Egg Curry, Mutton or Chicken Curry

Ingredients:

Whole wheat flour/atta- 2 cups and 2 tbsp for layers
Water- for kneading the dough
Oil- 3 tbsp for making dough, greasing layers and cooking
Salt to taste

Procedure:

1. In a bowl add the wheat flour, salt & mix well.



2. Now add water gradually to form a soft dough(similar to chappathi dough). Finally add 2 tsp oil & knead well.



3. Now let the dough rest for 1-2 hours.

4. After letting the dough to rest for 1-2 hours, now its time to divide the dough in to balls(medium sized)

5. Now roll out the dough ball in a circular shape with sprinkling dry wheat flour(as required-suggested to use very little dry flour for sprinkling & rolling)

6. Apply little oil on the surface of circular thin layer.

7. Now sprinkle some dry flour over the oil layer.



8. Fold the dough from one end to other end (as shown in pic)



9. On completion of pleating ,stretch the dough by pulling it slightly with your hand.

10. Roll the pleated dough in to a circle(as shown pic).



11. Now sprinkle little dry flour and roll this again in to a disc.

12. Place the paratha in hot tawa and cook from both sides with some oil.


Serve hot..
