Mushroom Paratha / Mushroom Stuffed Paratha


Mushroom paratha is a healthy and delicious stuffed paratha. Parathas when combined with the mushrooms and spices makes it very tasty. You don't need any special side dish for this paratha, you can just have it with curd or just the paratha alone. Kids will love to have this as breakfast for school. Do prepare this food and share you valuable comments.

Preparation time: 10 mins
Cooking time: 15 mins

Ingredients:

Wheat flour- 2 cups or more
Oil- 2 tsp
Salt to taste
Water as needed
Ghee for cooking parathas

For filling:

Button mushrooms- 250 gms
Onion- 2 chopped finely
Tomato- 1 chopped finely
Green chilli- 1 chopped finely
Capsicum- 1/2
Garam masala powder- 1/2 tsp
Ginger Garlic paste- 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
Fennel powder- 1/2 tsp
Pepper powder- 1 tsp
Coriander leaves-2 tbspn finely chopped
Salt to taste

Procedure:

 1. Take all your ingredients.



2. Start by making dough by mixing flour, salt and oil.Then add water little by little and form a soft dough. Cover the dough for 30 mins until we get the filling ready.

3. In a kadai, add onion and saute till translucent. Add chopped green chilli and ginger garlic paste. Then add chopped tomatoes and saute till it becomes mushy.


4. Add chopped mushrooms and stir fry on high heat  until most of the water from the mushroom gets dry out.


5. Add chopped capsicum.


6. Once the mushrooms have shrunk in size and the moisture has evaporated, add pepper powder, fennel powder, turmeric powder and garam masala powder and give it a stir for few minutes and turn off the heat.


7. Garnish with coriander leaves and allow the stuffing mixture to cool completely.


8. To begin making paratha, divide the dough into equal portions. Take two balls and roll it out.

9. Place the filling over one chappathi.


10.Now place another chappathi over it and seal it by pressing the edges.


11. Then roll into slightly thin paratha.



12. Roll this out out and put it on hot tawa. Drizzle ghee on both sides and cook till brown spots appear on both sides.

Serve hot with curd.
