Raw Banana Bajji / Plantain Fritters


Bajji is a simple snack even the beginners can make at home. Usually I don't recommend to buy such food from outside because it will be oily. But I must agree, When we go for kanyakumari beach, there is a Aachi bajji shop, where the taste is awesome. She makes variety of delicious bajjis. Next time when you happen to visit the Kanyakumari beach, Please try some ..


Preparation Time: 10 mins
Cooking Time: 20 mins
Makes: 10

Ingredients:

Raw Banana/Plantain- 1
Oil for deep frying

For Batter:
Gram Flour/ Besan- 1 cup
Chilli powder- 1 tsp
Pepper powder- 1/2 tsp
Cumin powder- 1 tsp
Asafoetida- 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Water- 3/4 cup

Procedure:

1. Prepare all your ingredients.


2. Peel the plantain and slice it thinly.
                           

3. Take all the ingredients given for batter in a bowl.


4. Add the water and make into a smooth paste. It should not be too thick or too thin. When you dip the plantain, the batter should coat fully. Adjust water accordingly.


5. Deep fry on both sides till it turns golden and crispy.


Bajjis are ready to serve. It tastes good with coconut chutney.
