Potato Podimas / Poori Potato Masala



Potato podimas is a basic and regular south indian side dish. We often make this podimas for pooris. This recipe is very very simple and easy but flavorful and healthy side dish .


Preparation Time: 15 mins
Cooking Time: 15 mins

Ingredients:

Potatoes- 3
Onion- 1 big
Green chilli- 3
Curry leaves- 1 spring
Mustard seeds- 1 tsp
Turmeric powder- 3/4 tsp
Chilli powder- 2 tsp
Oil- 3 tbsp
Salt as needed

Procedure:

1. Pressure cook the potatoes enough to mash them.


2. Heat oil in a kadai and add mustard seeds. Allow it to crackle. Now add curry leaves, onion and green chilli. Saute till the onions becomes translucent.


3. Add the mashed potatoes and mix well.


4. Add little water and mix thoroughly
.

5. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder and salt. Mix them all together.


6. Allow it to boil and cook till it becomes little thick in consistency.



7. Turn off the heat and transfer it to a serving bowl. Now serve it with hot puffed pooris.
