Anchovies are always a tasty one. When you are bored of cooking ordinary fish fry and you want something different, then this is a must try recipe. It is a great side dish for rice with rasam. You can also have it as a snack. Try these types of dishes..and yes, you will be fed up with cleaning these tiny little things but damn sure the result will be appreciated. You wont get the fish smell at all. When you make the patties, make it small and flatten it a little bit so that it gets easily cooked inside .

Makes: 12 to 15
Ingredients:
Nethili / Anchovy- 250 gm (deboned)
Oil to deep fry
To Grind:
Coconut- 1/2 cup
Small onion- 10
Green Chilli- 1
Dry Red Chilli / Vathal- 1
Curry Leaves- 2 string
Fennel- 1 tbsp
Ginger Garlic paste- 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Procedure:
1. Clean the Anchovies and debone it. Prepare all you ingredients.
2. In a blender, grind the ingredients given under 'To Grind' to a coarse paste.
3. Now, Open the lid and add the Anchovies and just give one pulse. Don't grind it to smooth paste.
4. Transfer it to a bowl and mix it well.
5. Make into small sized patties. Deep fry on both sides till it becomes golden brown in colour.
Hot and flavorful vada is ready. Serve it with ketchup or as a side dish for meals.
