Chicken Puff

Homemade chicken puff is one of my long time desire and i finally made it. It tasted soo delicious and the important thing is that it impressed my family members so much. My hubby often ask me to prepare this yummy evening snack. When you bake them its aroma just fills the house that makes you impatient. It almost tasted like bakery ones but healthy when you prepare at home. Preparing puff at home is not at all a tedious one, so grab some pastries and try this tasty and easy chicken puff .

Preparation Time: 20 mins
Cooking Time: 25 mins
Baking Time: 20 mins
Makes: 12

Ingredients:

Boneless Chicken- 250 g
Onion - 1 big
Green Chili- 2
Coriander Leaves- few
Puff pastry sheets- 12
Ginger Garlic paste- 2 tsp
Turmeric Powder- 1/4 tsp + 1/4 tsp
Pepper Powder- 1/2 tsp
Chilli Powder- 1 tsp
Garam Masala- 1 tsp
Coriander Powder- 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Egg- 1 (for egg wash)
Oil- 3 tbsp

Procedure:

1. Keep ready all your ingredients. Thaw the puff pastry sheets for 30 minutes at room temperature prior to making puffs.

2. Slice the chicken into small pieces and cook them till soft along with turmeric powder, pepper powder and salt.

3. After it is fully cooked, drain the chicken pieces and shred them into very small pieces. (You can use this chicken broth if you are making soup).

4. Heat oil in a kadai and add the chopped green chillies and ginger garlic paste. Saute them till the raw smell leaves.

5. Now add the chopped onions and saute them till translucent.

6. Add the spices and mix them all together along with salt.

7. Add the cooked shredded chicken to it and combine them well.

8. Add one egg and scramble them (optional).

9. Sprinkle some coriander leaves over the stuffing and mix well.

10. Now remove from the heat and keep it aside.

11. Meanwhile preheat your oven at 200 degree Celsius.

12. Take one puff pastry sheet and take 1 tbsp stuffing and place it in the middle of the sheet.

13. Fold the sheet as shown to get a triangle shape. You can fold whatever shape you want but just be sure that you stick the edges very tightly else it will open when bake in the oven.

14. Press the edges with your finger or with a fork (press the fork's pointed side along the edges of the pastry) so that the sides stick tight together.

15. Give egg wash by beating one egg and rubbing the egg over the puff pastry. You can use milk also for this.

16. Arrange the puffs on a baking tray and bake them for 15-20 mins at 200 deg. C.
Each oven differs so just don't depend on the time, keep an eye on your puff and bake till the top becomes golden brown.

17. Transfer the puff to a plate and serve hot with tea or coffee.

Crunchy and yummy...
