Aatukaal paaya is a famous and delicious recipe in our place. It is made from lamb"s feet. Cleaning them is quite difficult as we smoke and roast them on fire to burn off the small hair. But nowadays we get smoked mutton leg in shops so it became easy to prepare. It takes a long time to get cooked but will give you a very delicious taste .

Serving Suggestion: Appam, Pathiris and Idiyappam
Ingredients:
Mutton legs- 8
Shallots- 100 g
Onion- 1 medium
Tomato- 2
Ginger garlic paste- 2 tbsp
Green chili- 2
Coconut oil- 3 tbsp
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves- few
For Grinding:
Coconut- 2 tbsp
Almond- 5
Red chili powder- 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder- 1/2 tsp
Fennel powder- 1/2 tsp
Pepper- 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
Roasted gram- 1 tbsp
Mutton legs- 8

Coconut oil- 3 tbsp
Salt to taste

For Grinding:
Coconut- 2 tbsp
Almond- 5
Red chili powder- 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder- 1/2 tsp
Fennel powder- 1/2 tsp
Pepper- 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
Roasted gram- 1 tbsp
Procedure:
2. Take the ingredients for grinding and make it to fine paste.
3. Heat oil in the pressure cooker, add onion, shallots and saute for a min. Add tomato, green chili and mix well.
4. Add ginger garlic paste and saute well till golden brown.
5. Add mutton leg and mix well. Now add salt and cook for 5 mins.
6. Add the grounded masala, give it a mix then add sufficient water and pressure cook for 4 whistles at high flame and simmer cook for 20 mins.
7. Tasty and yummy leg paaya is ready to serve..
