Prawns Fried Rice / Shrimp Fried Rice


One day I felt so lazy to cook. I had some prawns in my fridge. I was not in a mood to prepare prawns roast or make some gravy for the regular rice. So thought why not make something different using prawns and kind of a one pot chinese meal. I had few veggies too. So I prepared the prawns fried rice. The flavour of the prawns with the rice is absolutely yummy.

Preparation  Time: 10 mins
Cooking  Time: 30 mins
Serves: 3

Ingredients:

Basmati Rice- 2 cup
Carrot- 1 cut lengthwise
Beans- 10 cut lengthwise
Capsicum- 1/2 cup cut lengthwise
Garlic- 7 finely chopped
Egg- 2
Soy sauce- 2 tbsp
Pepper- 2 to 3 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil to fry

For Marination:

Prawns- 250 gm
Chilli powder- 2 tsp
Fennel powder- 1 tsp
Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
Garam masala- 1 tsp

Procedure:

1. Marinate the prawns with the ingredients given under,' For Marination'. Keep them aside for 15 mins.


2. Heat a  kadai add oil, shallow fry the marinated prawns in a medium flame.


3. Once done transfer the prawns to a plate. Keep it aside. To the same oil add finely chopped garlic and saute for a min.


4. Now add in the chopped veggies, add salt to it and saute for 2 minutes.


5. Move the veggies to the sides of the kadai. Add the eggs in the middle and scramble it.


6.  Now add the fried prawns to the veggies. Sprinkle salt, pepper and soy sauce.


7. Soak the basmati rice for 30 mins. Then add the soaked rice to the boiling water. Add salt and a tsp of oil to it. Cook the basmati rice for 7 to 8 mins and drain it.


8. Mix the cooked rice with the prawns and veggies mixture. Toss it well.


Its ready to be served.
